SUSTAINABILITY
We understand that as a manufacturer, we have a negative impact on the environment. Unfortunately, this is an inevitable process that we can only minimize as much as possible.
Fortunately, we are specialists in this field. Unlike most international manufacturers, we produce our shoes ourselves. We do not strive for large-scale mass production. Instead, we focus on quality craftsmanship and reducing our carbon footprint. We want to highlight five areas in which we track CO2 emissions and do our best to reduce them.

1. Materials and Logistics
65% of the materials we use to produce our shoes come directly from Polish manufacturers, and the remaining 35% are sourced from European companies.
At Magical Shoes, environmental and community responsibility is as important to us as the health of your feet. Therefore, each step we take is carefully considered to produce barefoot shoes in an environmentally friendly way. A key component of our products is leather, which we source exclusively from local Polish tanneries.

The tanneries from which our leathers come use a closed-loop water treatment process to reduce water and chemical use, eliminating wastewater pollution.
We work with families of artisans who have been using traditional tanning methods for generations. This process limits the use of chemicals and aims to minimize production waste. As a result, our leather is not only durable, natural, and exceptionally soft but also safe for the environment and your health.

2. Packaging
All the packaging we use is made from recycled cardboard. We strive to keep unnecessary prints to a minimum on our packaging. When they do appear, they are printed using offset printing with water-based inks that comply with GOTS 6.0 and OEKO-TEX® 100 (Class I and II) standards. We source our boxes from a local manufacturer, which benefits our logistics and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint.

Inside the box, we include paper to wrap the shoes, protecting the material from abrasions. Additionally, the cardboard box is packed in a lightweight, durable polybag made from recycled materials suitable for recycling. Our minimalist shoes often travel far, sometimes on quite an adventure. This protection ensures your barefoot shoes arrive without any damage.

3. Production
As we proudly mentioned at the beginning, all our shoes are produced in Poland! Few brands can boast about this, which makes us proud, and we hope you appreciate it too. Our production is based in Andrychów, a hub for footwear production. In our area, most manufacturers produce "elegant" shoes for men and women. However, we decided to take a step further: "Why not create shoes that benefit humanity and bring a smile to wearers' faces?" This was our initial vision, and we continue to hold on to it. You can read more about how Magical Shoes was founded in "Our Story."
Let’s get down to business! Every stage of our shoe production takes place in one location. From cutting materials to sewing uppers and even producing the soles – yes, we produce them ourselves! It is essential for us to be as independent as possible from other suppliers or manufacturers. Through continuous search for such solutions, we can have a real impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions on our planet.
Domestic production brings many other benefits. By not outsourcing production to foreign companies, we support our economy and contribute to the well-being of future generations. This approach also aligns with the concept of Slow Fashion, which is very important to us. Many brands, in pursuit of profit, delegate production to countries like China and Vietnam without informing their customers. This approach is the opposite of ours; it is Fast Fashion, which has a devastating impact on our environment. The fashion industry takes the unfortunate second place in "polluting" our planet. While we are part of this industry, we are doing everything we can to slow down this terrible process.
Many of our manufacturing processes are done by hand, which helps minimize energy use as much as possible.

4. Long-Lasting Collections
Having our own production capabilities makes us fully independent. We are in control, which means we decide how many models to introduce and how long they stay with us. We don’t need to order thousands of pairs from China or Vietnam and hold end-of-season sales to make way for the next shipment. Massive factories in the Far East, engaged in mass fashion production, are responsible for 10% of annual CO2 emissions! Moreover, it is predicted that fashion-related greenhouse gas emissions will increase by over 50% by 2030. We care about creating timeless, multi-season products.

We don’t chase changing trends but design our barefoot shoes to stay with us for years. This requires more work and dedication, but Slow production suits us well. We have models that have been with us since the beginning, although they have undergone certain changes. This is also thanks to you! Your feedback allows us to make occasional tweaks for even better fit and functionality.

5. Long-Term Production Infrastructure Modernization
We take a long-term view of our brand, which is why in 2023, we decided to purchase land and build a new production hall. We searched for the right location for a long time. Our main criteria were that all production would be in one place. Previously, we had several production spaces located a few kilometers apart. Another important factor was designing a building that would allow for maximum energy efficiency. Lastly, we wanted the land to be in an open space to use renewable energy sources like solar panels or our own wind power plant. The project was created with specialists in eco-friendly construction.
These guidelines significantly reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint, with time-saving benefits as a byproduct. Through hard work and the trust you've placed in us, we fulfilled our dream of creating the ideal warehouse and production space. Our entire team is in one location, for which we want to thank you as this is also your contribution. Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for our achievements.
Greetings and hugs,
MAGICAL TEAM
