What to look for when choosing children’s shoes?

Now let’s summarize what in general should be sandals (and not only) for a child.
Such shoes should be:
- completely flat (zero drop), so as not to teach bad foot placement (from the heel) from a young age.
- as flexible as possible, so as not to in any way pinch, block, inhibit the child’s foot.
- made of natural materials, so as not to cause allergic reactions in the child.
According to us, these are the three MINIMUM conditions for a child to feel comfortable in footwear. Comfortable barefoot children’s sandals – JANU
JANU is our new model, designed primarily for safety and comfort. They are designed for the youngest users, taking their first steps, as well as those who are already beginning to explore the world. The upper covers the child’s delicate toes, protecting them from injury. However, the covered toes have more tasks. We know from experience that the youngest children, when moving in sandals that have only straps, intuitively and unnaturally lift their toes up (having free space), so the built-in front makes them arrange their feet in a natural way, as if they were walking barefoot.
The sandals are still very flexible and do not restrict the child’s freedom in any way. Velcro straps allow for a snug fit to the foot, but in no way to rub the toddler’s skin.
In this case, too, we used grain leather, which is easy to care for and clean, so it can serve for more than one summer outing.
The sole is completely flat, which should be the basis of any children’s footwear. As a result, when moving, the natural movement of the foot is forced, and thus greater sensitivity, balance and muscle strengthening.
Flat children’s sandals for summer – DUDI
Another model, this is a sandal for older kids, who already move efficiently and have a fairly formed gait. The DUDI model fits the foot perfectly, thanks to three adjustable straps they provide a solid hold on the foot, while not restricting freedom in any way.
We made DUDI from high-quality grain leather and the insole is made from vegetable-tanned leather. This guarantees safety for the child’s skin. In addition, the leather provides ease of cleaning and refreshing, so they will serve more than once in even the most energetic toddler.
As in the case of the JANU model – the sole is completely flat and incredibly flexible, in addition, the arrangement of the straps does not squeeze the child’s toes and the whole design allows the feet to work naturally.
Children’s barefoot sandals – Coco
Finally, here are some of our most popular models – the Coco. More built than the Janu, they can work well on further trips where more protection is needed. This does not change the fact that thanks to the construction and the natural cowhide leather used, the child’s foot breathes all the time. Nothing causes skin chafing or interferes with the free, natural movement of the body.
