Virtually everyone has heard of microfiber and knows that it is good, for example, in cleaning, as part of sportswear, etc. Did you know that microfibre has many more uses, including in footwear? In this article, you will find out what properties microfiber has and why it is such a durable material.
What is microfibre?
Microfibre, or microfibre, is a synthetic material made from thin polyamide or polyester fibers. Using modern technology, very fine fibers are created—up to 100 times thinner than a human hair—making the material resistant to damage yet very soft and pleasant to the touch. Due to their properties, microfibers can be used for the most delicate jobs, such as working on car paintwork, but they are also great for cleaning.
Advantages of microfibre
What advantages does microfiber have? There are many, and they are used in many industries:
- It absorbs moisture very well, making it suitable for cleaning and polishing.
- Because of its durability and softness, it is suitable for the clothing industry, e.g., for children, but also for sports and everyday use.
- Is completely anti-allergenic, as it is impervious to dust, dirt, and even dust mites.
- Thanks to its micro holes, it is a breathable fabric, so it works well in both summer and winter.
- It is easy to keep clean.
As you can see, the applications are really numerous. Keep in mind that it is a material made synthetically, so if you like to have everything natural, microfibre may not be for you.
The use of microfibres in the manufacture of shoes
At Magical Shoes, we use microfiber in two ways:
- As a lining in sports shoes, so you don’t have to worry about sweaty feet due to the breathable properties of microfibre. It also allows you to enjoy your shoes for longer, as less perspiration means less acid impact on the shoe material and less bacteria. You can find the microfiber lining in our running shoes, among others.
- The second use of microfibre is to create all footwear from this material. It perfectly imitates leather while retaining all its properties, resulting in models such as the women’s vegan minimalist slipper, Lupino Vegan. They can be enjoyed by people who want shoes that imitate leather but do not want animal products to be used in the production.
At Magical Shoes, we use microfiber in many of our shoe models. This ensures that our products are of the highest quality and comfortable to wear.
