Review Huaraches “Caballo Blanco” by ‘magical shoes’ I report on my first run with these sandals made in Poland by ‘magical shoes’. You should have experience with minimalistic shoes to run them. Dear beginner, please do not run too much too soon, better limit yourself to 10% (or less) of your total mileage. My run was 10km in 1:05h. The sole is profiled and has on top a light-coloured leather insole. It is wound up to the big toe thus protecting it from obstacles.
The lace holds the sole in this position. Lace itself is broad and nicely soft. I did the lacing intuitively, it didn’t open and was not too firm (see photo). My 42 size is sticking out behind my feet a little bit, without any influence on the run. Could have been even a 41 though I usually wear 43. I ran here across Berlin, 80% hard sufaces (pavements…) and park lanes. Stones and others can be felt through the sole, it is next to barefoot.
Thanks to the lacing and the leather sole there was no slipping in the Huaraches even at quick lateral moves. The small pebbles that slipped under my heel one time I could easily remove by lifting the sole from the feet.
I recommend the sandals for experienced minimalists. With temperatures falling I will use them with toe socks. I like the name “Caballo Blanco” a reminiscence of the runner Mike from the “Born to run” book. With the black leather insole they are called “Caballo Negro” accordingly. Bericht Laufsandalen “Caballo Blanco”, Hersteller magical shoes Ich berichte vom ersten Lauf mit den Huaraches des polnischen Herstellers ‘magical shoes’. Sie sind geeignet für Läufer, die bereits Erfahrung mit Minimalschuhen gemacht haben. Vorsicht, Einsteiger!
Die Fußmuskulatur sollte ausreichend gekräftigt sein, ansonsten empfehle ich kürzere Strecken (höchstens 10% des Gesamtumfangs), um Überlastungen zu vermeiden. Meine erste Strecke damit waren ca.10km, in 1:05h. Die Sohle besteht aus dem Gummiprofil und einer hellen Ledersohle, sehr solide verarbeitet. Sie ist vor dem großen Zeh hochgezogen und schützt ihn gut vor jeglichem Anstoßen. Die Schnürung zwischen großer und 2.Zehe hält die Sohle oben in dieser Position.
Die Schnur selbst ist breit und angenehm weich. Die übrige Schnürung habe ich nach Gefühl gemacht (Foto), saß gut und hielt. Die Sohle steht hinten etwas raus, was fürs Laufen keinen Unterschied gemacht hat. Hätte wohl auch eine 41 statt einer 42 sein können (trage normalerweise sogar 43). Ich war auf einer meiner Stadtstrecken hier in Berlin unterwegs, 80% befestigte Wege sowie Sand und Kies in Parks. Steine, Kanten usw. sind zu spüren. Das Laufgefühl ist fast barfuß. Dank Schnürung und Ledersohle saßen die Huaraches auch bei schnellen Seitwärtsbewegungen fest, kein Rutschen! Ich hatte ein einziges Mal Steinchen unter dem Hacken, kurzes Anlupfen Sohle- leer!
Ich empfehle die Sandalen für Minimalisten mit Erfahrung. Bei sinkenden Temperaturen werde ich sie mit Zehensocken nutzen. “Caballo Blanco” ist eine Erinnerung an Mike, den Läufer aus dem Buch “Born to run”. Schöner Name, finde ich. Die Variante mit schwarzer Ledersohle heißt entsprechend “Caballo Negro”. Über mich: Jahrgang 65. Ich laufe erst ca.10 Jahre, davon die letzten 5 in immer “weniger Schuh”. Pro Woche 35km und nein- kein Marathon. Ich habe die Sandalen vom Hersteller zum Testen erhalten, für den Bericht bekomme ich nichts.
